25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin

This hotel is probably too hip for me.

I mean, bicycle rentals, morning monkey hollers, a permanent entrance line to a rooftop bar, hammocks…

Yeah. It’s far too hip for me. But when you’re on holiday nobody else has to know that, right?

So, if you’re planning a trip to Berlin this might be the place to lay your head.

Fiesta, San Antonio, TX

Let’s take another journey into the past.

Part of the reason I decided to visit San Antonio in April was because of Fiesta.

It’s an annual ten day event celebrating all things puro San Antonio through parades, parties, pin badges, bright colours and of course, food.

San Antonio is party city already, but it really comes to life during Fiesta. I couldn’t possibly do the history of Fiesta justice, so to find out more about it have a look on their website: Fiesta!

What I can do is share a little of my experience of the celebration. Let’s go!

Wurstfest Craft Beer Festival, New Braunfels, TX

Okay, here we go. Months later and I’m just finding some time to go through some photos and get motivated to sit and do a little writing. My head has been busy.

Seeing as my trip back home was in April and we’ve now reached mid-July all the details are a little fuzzy, but I still have things I want to share… and one of those things was my time at the 3rd annual Wurstfest Craft Beer Festival.

A day outside drinking Texas craft beer, munching a few snacks and listening to music… why not. Here’s how I got on.

‘Babs, Glasgow

For the past several months I’ve been eyeing up the the “coming soon” sign of ‘Babs – a place boldly claiming their “kebabs are done right”. The lure of charcoal-fired meat and soft, pillowy bread was too great; I was salivating every time I walked past.

And with it opening just a day ago (June 15th) I could finally pay the place a visit.

It’s brought to you by the team of the well-loved Bread Meats Bread, so I had some relatively high expectations for ‘Babs and here is how I got on.

Let’s Journey Back…

The month of May has been the strangest sense of being busy vs being lazy… with added jet lag and a severe lack of Tex Mex.

I mean, Texas was a month ago and I’m only half unpacked. Shameful, I know.

Just watch this space. I’ll be sharing some past Texas fun with you over the next few weeks.

And now that it’s basically summer and we finally have a little bit of light in Scotland… I can get back to baking. I’m working on a little chocolate cake and with all the Twin Peaks I’m watching cherry pie is bound to come up soon.

The latter might be a bit ambitious, but we’ll see.

Stay tuned.

Scottish Street Food Festival, May 2017

It was a grey and wet afternoon… but I still decided to venture over to the Riverside Museum yesterday to check out the first annual Scottish Street Food Festival.

It’s meant to be a big gathering of the best street food trucks in all of Scotland, with added music, alcohol, boat races… and a Coors Light ice cave rave.

While the latter might not exactly be my bag,I’m always up for a munch. So, here’s a little look at what the day was like.
